What are Professional Peels ?
Professional chemical peels speed up skin cell turnover that makes them the skin resurfacing and exfoliation agents. The basic aim of professional peels is to replace the outer, dead layers of tired, and wrinkled skin to reveal the underlying areas of fresher, younger looking skin. It also promotes the generation of collagen in the skin.
How do professional peels work?
This peel uses a solution applied to the skin to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the production of new skin cells. It tightens the skin, reduces wrinkling, evens out any pigmentation and rejuvenates the skin.
How many types of peels are there?
There are various peels such as Sensitive Skin Peels, Mature Skin Peels, Youthful Skin Peels, Cosmelan and Chemical Peels. There are a variety of chemical peels ranging from the superficial depth peels to the deep ones, each for a different set of indications. Peels contain a form of acidic compounds (AHAs), glycolic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid or trichloroacetic acid (TCA), or a combination of a few varieties.
What does the treatment demand?
Depending on your skin type and the desired results, our doctors may recommend a superficial, medium, or deep chemical peel. Next they will select the proper chemical or mix of chemicals (glycolic acid, salicylic acid or a TCA peel for instance) and apply the solution to various areas of skin. Once applied, the chemical produces a separation and peeling of the outer layers of the skin. This stimulates the production of new skin from beneath.
