How do professional peels work?
Not every type of acne treatment works the same for every person as the trigger factors are different. Morevere not treating the underlying problems can only give symptomatic relief and ceasing of treatment can cause recurrence. This peel uses a solution applied to the skin to remove dead skin cells and stimulate the production of new skin cells. It tightens the skin, reduces wrinkling, evens out any pigmentation and rejuvenates the skin.
How many types of peels are there for Acne and Acne-scar?
There are various peels such as Sensitive Skin Peels, Mature Skin Peels, Youthful Skin Peels, Cosmelan and Chemical Peels. There are a variety of chemical peels ranging from the superficial depth peels to the deep ones, each for a different set of indications. Peels contain a form of acidic compounds (AHAs), glycolic acid, salicylic acid, lactic acid or trichloroacetic acid (TCA), or a combination of a few varieties.
What does this treatment demand?
Depending on your skin type and the desired results, our doctors may recommend a superficial, medium, or deep chemical peel. Next they will select the proper chemical or mix of chemicals (glycolic acid, salicylic acid or a TCA peel for instance) and apply the solution to various areas of skin. Once applied, the chemical produces a separation and peeling of the outer layers of the skin. This stimulates the production of new skin from beneath.
